VALENTINES DAY.. yay or nay?

Ah, it's that time of the year again, I guess! Where all those singletons are reminded of that fact and all those in a relationship can be extra cute and soppy towards one another. Are you guys a fan of the whole concept of Valentines or not? See, I'm still trying to work it out. I think maybe I'm being bitter about it because I'm single.. as I've spent Valentines Day with someone before and although I find the idea extremely overrated, it was lovely. However, I feel that if you're with someone you should do all of this stuff naturally. Like, flowers, teddy's and stuff. Shouldn't this be done throughout the year? Not just on this particular day.

Yesterday I received a Valentines card myself which has been the first time in a while that was from an anonymous and I am yet to find out who it was from! Which is going to bug me for quite some time.. would that bug you?! I have no idea who it could be from, I've asked most of my friends and they've denied it and most didn't even know anything about it, they would also have told me by now if it was from them so that leaves me wondering. I've asked my Mum and Step-Dad, at first I thought it could have been from them but they too would have told me by now. I have no idea! It's really exciting though, regardless to the fact that it could still be from one of my friends just having a laugh with me (which is the most likely scenario), or on the other hand, I could actually have my very own secret admirer (which I find very hard to believe!).

However commercialized it may well be, who cares! As long as the people are happy then it's just another day to me. I mean yes, of course, when you see that people in relationships are getting cute stuff from their partners, it can make you feel a bit down and a bit lonely but realistically, it doesn't really matter. Not really.  I spent my Valentines Day with my best friends and honestly, it was so nice. I cooked a meal for them at mine and I lit candles and put some music on in the background ('lets get it on' and 'sexual healing'- had to get in the spirit of things!) and we just had a nice chat in the dark with the candles on and it was honestly really lovely to be able to do that. That made me realize that you really don't need a guy when you have good, honest and true friends!

Anyway, I guess Valentines has left me a tad soppy myself. I hope you have all had and have a lovely Valentines Day, whether you've spent it with someone or not! (Note to single people: at least we didn't have to bother shaving our legs!)*

*I'm kidding... of course...

  3. Valentine's Day is totally over-rated, it doesn't have anything to do with love but bragging that you're in love or whining that you're not. I don't really care about this day but I spent it well. just like any other day, actually.
and if I got a secret valentine I literally couldn't sleep of curiousness eating me from the inside. when you find out who it was let me know! :)
